Ten Questions to Ask Before You Sign a Copier Contract
Whoever you buy from, ask these before you sign. A good supplier will answer them in writing without fuss. If the answers are vague, that tells you something.
Ask about the term and the exit
- How long is the contract, and what happens at the end of it?
- Does it renew automatically, and how much notice do I give?
- What does it cost to end the contract early?
- Can I change the machine if my needs change?
- What do I pay to return the machine?
Ask about the price
- What is the monthly payment, and what does it include?
- Does the price rise during the term, and by how much?
- Is there a charge for each page, and is there a minimum?
- Are delivery, installation and network setup included?
- Is everything in the quote in writing?

What should a copier quote include?
The machine, the term, the monthly payment, what is included such as delivery and setup, any per page charges, any price rises and the exit terms. All of it in writing.
Is a longer contract cheaper per month?
Often the monthly figure is lower on a longer term, but the total over the term is higher and you are committed. Compare the total, not only the monthly figure.
What if my business changes?
On month to month hire you can change the machine or the arrangement. Ask us about notice. On a long contract, check the terms before you sign.
Can you quote against another supplier?
Yes. Send us the quote and we will quote a comparable machine on hire, rental and used purchase.

No lock in

Some leases and managed print contracts tie you to the same machine for five years or more. Hire is the flexible way to get a copier, and if it is not right, it can change.
Month to month
Hire for as long as you need the machine, whether that is a week, a month or a year. There is no five year term to sign up to.
Change it if it is not right
If the machine, your volumes or your plans change, tell us. Hire is flexible, so we can swap the model or adjust the arrangement. Ask us what notice applies.
Plain terms, in writing
We quote the machine, the term and what is included in writing before you commit. Delivery, installation and network setup are part of hire.
